Naive Art by Ashley Armistead

This painting of lines grew out of a meditative painting process. Using intuitive marks as a process-oriented tool to record breath prayers, “Naive” represents the embodied practice of pushing back against the dark. In a large format, this painting would be a fabulous anchor piece in a modern or bohemian space. In a smaller format, it would be great in a reading or kitchen nook or used over a bed. Wherever it is hung, my hope is that it brings the same peace to your space that the painting process brought to me.
