Part of my 2024 square wood panel series, this piece was born during a rare burst of brightness in the world—and it pushed me to embrace more playfulness and color in my work. Like much of what I create, it’s intuitive and expressive, driven by movement and freedom, with no need for restraint.
I used pencil, watercolor crayons, and acrylic paint on wood, a surface that lets me scratch, scrape, and build rich textures. The original is 12×12, but I can easily imagine it scaled up—its energy and layers beautifully amplified in a larger print.
